Dude! Your emacs starter kit puts rinari-launch onto dired-mode-hook, regardless of whether I’ve got ruby-mode installed (which I don’t).
See commit 013a7159a7dccd80148652796549c6695a8cf2e1, rinari.el, line 569 or so.
I think you should build yourself a virgin Emacs environment somehow, and put the starter kit through some sort of tests occasionally.
