SproutCore Demo Awards 1

The first SproutCore Demo Awards is a contest to build the best SproutCore demo in a short time. The first Demo Award will be announced at the SproutCore meetup in Mountain View, CA on July 23, 2008. Four entries will be chosen to show their demo (you can do so remotely if you are not in the area), have their demo linked on the main SproutCore demos page, free t-shirts and bragging rights.

To enter, just create a cool SproutCore demo doing anything you like and host it somewhere online. Then edit this wiki page and add your entry to the page following template below. The last date to enter is midnight of July 21 (GMT -7), so get started! Build your demo and link it up here today.

Entries.

  • Photos Demo – This is the sample entry. Copy this format for your entry and add it to the list. Include a link to the app, a short description, and a URL to your site if you wish. Please also send an email to sproutcore@sproutitmail.com with your email address and the name of your entry so that we can contact you if you win.
  • FileTalk – FileTalk is a chat application developed using SproutCore. It’s an open source project that aims to build a fully-featured web client for the Hotline protocol. The version submitted for the contest is not complete – and as such only basic things work (login, chat, PM, change name, user info, disconnect).
  • Stone Hill Invoicer – Stone Hill Invoicer is an invoicing application being ported to Sproutcore. The original application is a desktop application for the Mac. The version submitted is cut down as much as possible as it was written as a proof of concept for porting the entire application.
  • SproutedNote – SproutedNote is an wiki like notepad. Its source is here(http://www.maloninc.com/archive/sproutednote.tar.gz). You can see the wiki notation of the SproutedNote on
this site(http://www.maloninc.com/cgi-bin/fswiki/wiki.cgi?page=SproutedNote), or you can login using a demo user.
The demo user’s name is “demo”, and password is also “demo”. You can try anything but saving data.
