Sproutbot

Sproutbot is an IRC bot that lives in the #sproutcore IRC channel on irc.freenode.net.

It’s a simple bot, mostly designed to just keep track of facts, and a fairly discreet one, that speaks only when spoken to.

You can ask Sproutbot questions publicly by saying something like “sproutbot: download?” or “??download” and it will respond in channel with an appropriate URL, if it knows of one.

You can also /msg sproutbot and ask it privately, in which case it’ll respond privately.

Anyone can teach sproutbot new facts by saying “sproutbot: X is Y” and anyone can tell sproutbot to forget a fact it already knows by saying “sproutbot: forget X”.

(Other neat things sproutbot can do should be mentioned here, once the code settles down a bit)
