A Web 2.0 Bookmark Management System

This is an online bookmark management system using PHP and Smarty Template Engine. MySQL is the database of choice.

The user interface is based on completely themeable. It is based on the Prototype JavaScript library. But naturally, the default theme is based on script.aculo.us.

Why another bookmark application?

I am not a web programmer, but programming is one of my hobbies. In my professional life, my programming revolves around C/C++, PERL. I did spend good time learning Java, Javascript, but could not keep up with changing pace.

I have installed many web applications – photo galleries, CMS, etc. for in my home network. During one of these installations, i came across Script.aculo.us. And I had to try it!

Being a novice at PHP and MySQL (actually I was never comfortable with databases since college days), I had to start working on a simple application that keep me engaged. Almost an year ago, I missed a good and light-weight standalone bookmark manage system. Here is the result.
