TwitterIntegration

OneBody can optionally be integrated with Twitter to allow for remote/mobile contact info lookup.

To setup, create a Twitter account for your community, and add the following command to your crontab:

script/twitter username password 1 production

The third argument is the site id number. If you’re running multiple sites, you’ll need to determine which site number to put here. The fourth argument is the environment, almost always “production.”

Now, in Settings, add your Twitter Account name.

Users

For people to be able to utilize the service via Twitter, they’ll need to go to their profile, click edit, click the Twitter tab, and enter their account name.

Usage

From the individual’s Twitter account, any of the following messages can be sent as “direct messages.”

d communityname lookup John Smith
d communityname mobile john smith
d communityname phone john smith
d communityname work john smith
d communityname home john smith
d communityname address john smith

(The first three are the same; they return the mobile number.)

Privacy

All the same privacy rules take effect. If a person has hidden a piece of their contact information, then lookup attempts via Twitter will return “info unavailable.”
