In order to accept incoming email and send outgoing email, OneBody needs to connect to a separate mail server, either on the same physical server or on another physical server.

Just about any email server software should work, including MS Exchange, Postfix (our favorite), Sendmail, exim, whatever. Though, configuration instructions are outside the scope of this document. Generally, you’ll need:

An SMTP server that can send mail.

A catch-all email address/mailbox, and a POP server that OneBody can log into and download the email.

Setup

Tell OneBody how to connect to your smtp and pop server(s):

Copy
config/email.yml.example
to
config/email.yml
.

Edit appropriately.

You will probably need to update your [[CrontabSetup]] following changes to this file.
