We have about two weeks to pull together a Rails#install_fest() and take software engineering in Maine to a new level.
The following is the agenda that we discussed and some generic tasks. Put your name next to a task (list item) that you commit to doing.
- {everyone} presentation – 3 sentence personal introductions (15 minutes)
- {dan} presentation – introduction to Rails talk w/optional slides (15 minutes) – PDF of presentation
- presentation – install Rails, and created a blog in 5 commands (15 minutes)
- {everyone} install Rails stack on every laptop, notebook, computer, workstation, iPhone, pager, and microwave oven in the room (30 minutes)
- {justin} presentation – walk through creating the blog again, this time directing the audience while everyone helps (15 minutes)
- presentation – add images and links, like

- {russ} presentation – authentication (5 minutes)
- presentation – ActiveRecord associations (5 minutes)

We need to test the presentation code on each of the following platforms, which can be downloaded from the good folks at EnterpriseDB .
