Logos Wallpaper Updater

The “Logos Hope” is OM’s newest and biggest ship. A new picture is made available every month on the Logos Hope Website for use as wallpaper. This project is a little system-tray icon that will keep your wallpaper up-to-date every month, and also provides an easy-access link to the website itself.

Features

• Downloads the latest Logos Hope wallpaper from the website every month.
• Automatically determines whether you need the Widescreen or Standard wallpaper sizes.
• Notifies you when the wallpaper has been updated, in case you were unable to see the desktop when it was changed.
• Features a link to the Logos Hope website, so that you can easily keep up-to-date with recent events.
• Notifies you when there is a new version of the application available, in case changes are made to the Logos Hope website that require changes to the application.

NOTE: To get pretty update notifications in MacOS X, you need to have Growl installed.

Technical Details

The utility is written in C++ using Qt4 and uses the CMake build system with GCC on all platforms. Currently, only MacOS X and Windows is supported, but I have plans to port it to KDE soon.

This utility also features a notably tidy and helpful CMake file and supporting scripts, including an NSIS Windows installer script and automated creation of MacOS X bundle & disk image. Very easy to apply to a new project :)
