Gmail Boomerang
Gmail Boomerang will connect to your gmail account and move messages for you, automatically, between its special GTD labels. Here’s how your workflow will look:
- You want to deal with an email tomorrow, so you label it Tomorrow, archive it and forget about it.
- Gmail Boomerang will notice a new email sitting in the Tomorrow label and record the date/time it appeared there.
- The next day, Gmail Boomerang will notice the email has been in the Tomorrow box for a full day and will remove the Tomorrow label and move it back into your Inbox.
If you “move” an email into the Next Week label, it works a little differently. Gmail Boomerang actually moves the email after 6 days — into the Tomorrow label. Then, after 1 day there, it will bounce back into your inbox. The same goes for the Next Month label: after 3 weeks it will be moved into the Next Week label, and 6 days later into the Tomorrow, and finally back into the inbox.
The net result is that you can simply move any email into Tomorrow, Next Week or Next Month, and forget about it, and it will magically reappear in your inbox after that period of time!
