Test templates

Here are a few scenarios. To help with testing, simply recreate a test scenario (e.g. connect to a given server with the given configuration) and report test results in brackets.

For example, if your username is “john” and test succeeded, type: [success (john)]. If test failed, type [failure: progress bar never stops (john)]. Username isn’t required, but it’s nice to get credit. :-)

Connection

Test connection with the following configurations, restarting browser before each connection:

1. sameplace.cc, 5222, StartTLS, no proxy
2. sameplace.cc, 5223, SSL, no proxy
3. sameplace.cc, 443, SSL, no proxy
4. gmail.com, 5222, StartTLS, no proxy
5. gmail.com, 5223, SSL, no proxy
6. gmail.com, 443, SSL, no proxy
7. sameplace.cc, 5222, StartTLS, proxy
8. sameplace.cc, 5223, SSL, proxy
9. sameplace.cc, 443, SSL, proxy

Configure an (existing) account using the account wizard:

1. sameplace.cc, 5222, StartTLS, no proxy

4. gmail.com, 5223, SSL, no proxy
5. server with bad certificate, 5222, StartTLS, no proxy
6. server with bad certificate, 5223, SSL, no proxy

Account creation

When registering a user for test purposes on sameplace.cc, please name it “testset.registration.20080711” (with the last field being the date).
