What is this? Some new Apple product?
iTorrent is a web front-end for the best torrent client known to man, rTorrent. The project began when Owl bought an iPhone and wanted an easy way to watch the TT RSS feeds and start his downloads when he wasn’t at home – so, iTorrent.
Being a sane individual, Owl also built a web front-end for regular browsers before he added in his iPhone UI. InfinityB slapped together an interface that works well on the PSP and added that in, too.
Features
- Add, stop, and remove torrents.
- Add torrents with one click from an RSS feed.
- Multiple RSS feeds supported
- Prefetch RSS feeds and prefetch their torrents to grab information like size, hash, and number of files.
- Regular expression matching for highlighting titles so you don’t forget to download that next episode
- Configure some client-wide limits
And, coming Soon™, prioritizing files in individual torrents!
Requirements
- rTorrent >= 0.7.9
- XMLRPC supple must be compiled in, see README.
- libtorrent >= 0.11.9
- MySQL or Oracle database (for caching things)
- Lighttpd (for front-ending the XMLRPC socket)
- Apache2 (for running the UI)
- PHP >=5
- mod_rewrite
You can optionally have command-line PHP installed and run a script in cron to do the prefetching things mentioned above. I know we should support SQLite and Postgres and not need you to run two different web servers, but…well, it WORKSFORME.
iTorrent is brought to you by the Yasashii Syndicate.
