FAQ
Why does B3 not respond to my commands?
If B3 seems to be ignoring your commands there are a few possible problems:
- You need to ensure your [wiki:BotManual/Configuration#server server settings] are correct, specifically [wiki:BotManual/Configuration#server.game_log game_log], [wiki:BotManual/Configuration#server.rcon_ip rcon_ip], and [wiki:BotManual/Configuration#server.rcon_password rcon_password].
- You need to set [wiki:BotManual/GameConfiguration#g_logsync g_logsync].
- B3 only responds to public messages, not team or private messages. However, B3 will respond to private messages sent to yourself if your game supports it and the user has sufficient access privileges.
Does B3 have to be installed on the game server?
Short answer, Yes. In order to read your game log files B3 has to be installed on your game server. However, if you can access your log file remotely via [http://fuse.sourceforge.net/sshfs.html sshfs], FTP, a network mount, etc. then you can install B3 anywhere that can access the game log remotely and send commands via rcon to the game server.
Development B3 2.0 is expected to have some built in.
Can B3 run remotely?
